Summer Meals Program
DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE, WE UNDERSTAND CHILDREN NEED NUTRITIOUS MEALS MORE THAN EVER.

You can help make sure kids enjoy a healthy summer.

Be an advocate for kids.
Connect them with healthy, no cost summer meals!
The Summer Meal Programs serve healthy, no cost meals to children and teens 18 and younger, and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old. Organizations and schools around your community are serving meals in unique ways to help your children continue to thrive and grow. Meal sites include schools, parks, city recreational centers, and libraries in communities across the state. There are no registration or identification requirements for participants to enjoy meals. At some sites during COVID-19, children may need to be present in order to receive the meals. Contact the meal site for additional information and to ensure they are open and serving meals. The texting tool and the map provide contact information for each meal site. You can ensure more students get these healthy meals at no cost during the summer months by spreading the word about the Summer Meal Programs. The Texas Department of Agriculture administers these U.S. Department of Agriculture programs to connect Texas children in need with good nutrition during the summer.

HERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS YOU CAN HELP
 1.  Forward the general information email to your contacts who may want to help get the word out. Also send it to organizations you think may be interested in directly participating.
